Videogame Review – Marvel Future Fight

I know that this is Gladiator Raffy’s realm, but humor me on this one, coz its just too good to pass-up.

For those with a serious hangover from the latest Marvel offering, a little movie called Avengers: Age of Ultron, this game might just be for you.

Marvel Future Fight is a mobile-app game offered for free for android and ios phones. It’s a pretty straight forward game, you use a control stick, and bash the heads of goons and bosses until you beat them silly.

To be honest, this is a game I’ve been waiting for on my smart phone. It’s fun to play and easy enough to navigate. Plus, you get to choose among a wide array of heroes from the Avengers, to Spiderman, to the freaking Guardians of the Galaxy. If only the X-Men were available though. Nonetheless, it’s a satisfying game to play.

The gameplay is akin to the earlier games released on 2nd-gen console platforms, such as X-Men Legends on the PS2. But it doesn’t matter, because for an ios or android game, this is as close as you get from reliving those memories but with a different story and characters, and its free.

So the the story revolves around a mystery villain who has wiped out the Marvel heroes, and the only way to prevent that from happening is by sending a message to the present time ala Terminator or Dragon Ball (either way) its the same plot. To do just that, you control a team of 3 playable heroes who you can upgrade and make stronger.

Like any other ios/android game, it is a goal oriented one where you have to accomplish goals to gain better tools/uniforms and the like. Of course the achievement part is just cherry on top of the ice cream game as the game alone would suffice.

The drawback here is that since the game is free-to-play, you get only a limited number of energy bars to enable you to play the game. After which, you have to wait for another 24 hours just to have them recharged. But again, like many free-to-play games, its just the price you have to pay for such.

Overall, the game is pleasing to play and would definitely be a good companion to the latest Marvel movie. Controlwise, and user interface-wise, its as easy as it gets. All you have to do is tap the screen and presto.

I give it a 4/5 Stan Lee Cameos
